Bermuda CAMO requirement

In accordance with the transition plan of the Overseas Territories Aviation Requirements (OTARs) Part 39 (Continued Airworthiness Requirements) all aircraft on the Bermuda registry must be subject to a CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation) who will certify their maintenance. The deadline is within Autumn 2010 for non-commercial aircraft, commercial aircraft being already implemented.

Cayman Islands, with their registry being VP-C will follow the same procedure in the near future, possibly as early as Autumn 2010. The transition and implementation deadline of the remaining OTAR compliant countries, amongst them Anguilla, Gibraltar and the British Virgin Islands, will be determined individually in due time.

Bermuda IS-BAO Requirement

Bermuda IS-BAO approved aircraft and flight operations manuals requirements must be met by being certified IAW the IS-BAO not later than 31 October 2009.Such manuals highlight specific guidelines including: Operational Control and Supervision; Crew Planning and Flight Time Limitation; Safety and Quality Management System and Training
Other standards may be accepted but will be audited acceptability at the applicant operator's expense.
